5 Simple and Natural Ways to Decorate for Fall

Fall Decorating at My Home

Fall Decorating at My Home

Fall is my favourite time of year. And fall decorating is also my favourite time to decorate for the season. Even more than Christmas. I think I love it because I like to keep it simple and natural - which is totally my decorating vibe in my own home.

So I’m sharing some of my favourite fall decorating tips below!

Natural Elements

Use natural elements, like branches from your backyard or wildflowers you collect on a walk. They are free and biodegradable — a bonus that is good for the environment!

Shop Your Home

Use what you already have to hold all of those branches and wildflowers you’ve collected. Vases, bowls, crocks — whatever you have. If you use natural elements, you won’t have to worry about it not working with your current colour scheme!

Bring On the Texture

If you’re decorating for fall, you’ve got to add more textural and cozy elements to your space. Chunky knit throws, velvet pillows , wool blankets, woven baskets — all things that are easy to switch out and you can use year after year. Bring on the cozy!

Fresh and Simple

If you’d like to purchase a few fall items, mini white pumpkins are my go to! I love them and they are neutral enough to go with any colour scheme. Fresh fall flowers like mums are always a lovely addition to any home for fall. I particularly love the more muted tones, as they work best with my decor.

Give Me All the Candles

Candles, candles and more candles! I love using off white pillar candles in a variety of sizes (I love IKEA’s candles - great price point!). You can cluster them on a tray or use them individually around the room. Either way, the soft, glowy ambiance they give to your home really adds to that cozy fall feeling!

I hope you enjoyed these tips. Now go decorate! ;-)
